Super Power Weekend, September 2005

Take a careful look at the first photograph on this page, the tail of the train is right around the curves towards Salem even though 143 is almost on Pont Cae Hywel. The afternoon train had the wagons from both mixed rakes, making this the longest train ever run on the Welsh Highland.

In a repeat of last year's timetable, Prince worked a late afternoon train to Waunfawr and propelled back to Dinas in a gap in the timetable. I had meant to go to curves near Tan-yr-allt but the view I had used in the past is no longer possible due to the growth of lineside vegetation. I also experienced this on Sunday by Rhostryfan Road where I had to do quite a bit of gardening to get my photograph; it's nice to see that much of phase 2 has now become an established part of the landscape.
