Super Power Weekend, September 2004

The Welsh Highland Railway's gala weekends in September have generally been blessed with good weather, but for 2004 the balance was more than redressed!  The forecast was anything but promising as we arrived at Caernarfon, but for a couple of hours the rain held off as we viewed the various attractions at Dinas and followed the first mixed train of the day along the valley.

Visiting the line this year were Prince and former NWNGR carriage No 26 from the Ffestiniog, together with Gelert from the southern end of the WHR at Gelerts Farm.  No 26, unlike it's twin 23 has only the most tenuous links with Dinas, having had a new steel underframe and later a new body to a different design, so the only link with the past is it's number...
